Hello
So I have a Polycom VVX 411 that I have connected to a Genie ACS server. However whenever I try to use the Reboot or restart Feature I get this error Message “64167F-VVX%20411-64167F5DED6D: Connection request error: socket hang up”. No other phone seems to be having this problem. I tested this with a Yealink T46G and it worked perfectly. It seems that it is just any polycom phone I am adding that seems to have this problem.
Looks like a vendor issue. I bet the phone is abruptly closing the socket when it reboots instead of following the spec and informing the ACS it received the request and politely closing the connection.

But then shouldn’t the issue be isolated to a singular phone? This issue is happening to any polycom phone I add.
I factory reset the phone to default and tried again now it runs an error that says device is offline.
Also every other polycom also does the device is offline even though it is not offline. No other brand seems to have this issue.
No, this is a firmware issue with Polycom phones. As evidenced by it doesn’t happen with other vendors.
What should I try to do to fix this. Is there is even any fix?
You need to email the vendor and let them know specifically how they are violating the spec. Which will mean you need to dive into the TR-069/TR-181 spec and look into how ‘M REBOOT’ is supposed to work. Then report the deviation to the vendor pointing to the exact line of the spec they are violating. This is the only way I’ve gotten vendors to fix firmware issues.
