hello i’m new here and i’ve also met genie acs now, i’m looking for tutorials for a contenco mikrotik network for routing and using genie acs for autoconfiguration of routers can anyone help me out
To configure a MikroTik router as a client for TR-069 communication with a remote ACS (Auto Configuration Server), you need to follow these steps:
- Log in to the MikroTik router using the Winbox application or the web interface.
- Click on the “System” menu and then click on “Packages”. Make sure that the “RouterOS-Extras” package is installed.
- Click on the “System” menu again and then click on “Auto Upgrade”. Enable the “Check for updates” and “Download and install updates” options.
- Click on the “IP” menu and then click on “DHCP Client”. Add a new DHCP client with the following settings:
- Interface: Select the WAN interface of the router.
- Use Peer DNS: Check this option if you want to use the DNS server provided by the DHCP server.
- Add Default Route: Check this option if you want to add the default gateway provided by the DHCP server.
- Click on the “IP” menu again and then click on “Firewall”. Add a new firewall rule with the following settings:
- Chain: Input
- Protocol: TCP
- Dst. Port: 7547
- Action: Accept
- Click on the “System” menu and then click on “Packages”. Check that the “tr069-client” package is installed. If not, install it.
- Click on the “System” menu again and then click on “TR-069 Client”. Configure the TR-069 client with the following settings:
- Enable: Check this option to enable the TR-069 client.
- ACS URL: Enter the URL of the ACS server.
- Periodic Inform Interval: Enter the interval at which the router should send periodic inform messages to the ACS server.
- Connection Request Username: Enter the username for the connection request (if required by the ACS server).
- Connection Request Password: Enter the password for the connection request (if required by the ACS server).
- Click on the “Save” button to save the TR-069 client settings.
After completing these steps, the MikroTik router should be configured as a client for TR-069 communication with the remote ACS server. The router will periodically send inform messages to the ACS server, and the server can send configuration commands to the router as needed.
