I want Tips and Best Practices for GenieACS Setup

Hey everyone,

I am diving into GenieACS for the first time & I am looking for some insights from you experienced users. What are some tips or best practices you would suggest for setting up and managing devices?

Also, if there are specific use cases or configurations that you have found particularly helpful, I want to hear about them I am interested in how to optimize performance and ensure reliable device management.

As well, I found these resources when doing research on this; https://forum.genieacs.com/t/genieacs-security-hardening-best-practicesminitab. I want to learn and make the most out of GenieACS so any resources, tutorials or personal experiences you can share.

Thank you…….

Following everything I wrote on the security best practices is a good first step .

Create two interfaces for your routers. One untagged that public traffic flows over. And one called management on a vlan that is just TR-069 traffic. Make sure this interface is NOT marked as the default route. Bind the TR-069 interface to the management interface. This will allow you to always have management access to the router, regardless of the subscribers access status.

Put your management network on a 172 address, this way the likelihood of a customer needing to use the same IP space is minimized. Use DHCP option 43 to set the ACS URL, and 121 to force the router to add a class-less static route to the ACS IP.
