# Pending tasks timeout

Hello,

I have to say that I love this product. I really think that you’ve done a great job and can’t imagine how I would manage my CPEs in any other way.

Yesterday my service got depricated and I didn’t know why until I saw that there war a couple of million pending tasks which were produced by some 3rd party application that is collecting data from the CPEs. Some of them were 6 months old or even older. Is there a posibility to set somekind of task timeout so that task would get deleted after some time? At the moment I’m running cronjob to delete old tasks.

Which version of GenieACS are you using? The handling of tasks changed between v1.1 and v1.2.

If you’re using the API, you can set `expire` property in the task object to have it automatically get deleted after set expire time.
