# How ot use POST api to set same value

you can’t, you have to change it first to another value … would be nice if we could force the setParameterValues even if the value is the same for those cases when it’s mandatory (this is a recurring problem, see for example [setParameterValue that already exists](https://forum.genieacs.com/t/setparametervalue-set-value-that-already-exists/927/4) or [Send all parameters on the same setParameterValue](https://forum.genieacs.com/t/send-all-parameters-on-the-same-setparametersvalue-rpc/156/3)).
